PJ Acarya Harsa, widely known as “Pacar Asa” is a program held by the Community Service Department of SMAPJ Sidoarjo’s student council at the peak celebration of the school’s “Religious Fest”. This program of tradition was started by the previous 2023/2024 period of the student council. And due to its positive feedback and impact, this program is being held for the second time this period.
Pacar Asa’s program is divided into two different branches of forms of sharing. The council first raised money for a few weeks prior to the event. And come to the day of the program, the money is shared in a variety of forms towards the people outside of our community. The first one, is sharing with the local orphans and orphanages. Here, the student share foods, stationaries, and other necessities for the kids at the local orphanages, and for the sustainability of the orphanages itself.
The second branch, is “takjil on the street”. Here, the students gave out a number of “Takjil” or fast-breaking snacks to strangers happened to cross by, since this program was held during the Holy Month of Ramadhan. The Arc asked our Student Council President about her take on Pacar Asa, here’s what we got :
Gwen ‘25, “The Pacar Asa program, which opened with a display of preaching from 10th grade yesterday, in my opinion was very exciting and added to our students’s experience and knowledge regarding other religions. Because representatives of each religion displayed their culture, there was also a collaboration between Islam & Christianity singing the song Sapu Jagat X Allah Peduli (I was one of the singers hehe). After that we also met the extraordinary children from the orphanage! We have fun with them”. Gwen continue, “It didn’t stopped there, Pacar Asa continued with the takjil sharing event. It feels good to be able to share in this holy month, hopefully what we have given can be useful for all of them. See you on Pacar Asa 3.0 -!”
This program provide a source for the students to express their gratitude and to also share their prosperity towards others. But most importantly, this program exist to provide the students a perspective about the joy of sharing itself.
