Council Program Spotlight : K-Active Corner

On Wednesday, 8th of May, the Student Council’s Department of Talent and Interest held their program called “K-Active Corner” for the first time. K-Active Corner is a new program which consists of students performing their talents and giving entertaintment to others in the hallway during 2nd break as a representative for their class. This performance range from stand up comedy all the way to choir. The program will be held regularly once every three weeks with each classes taking turn, and this program’s debuted itself with a beyond-expectation performance by XB.

Opening this program, XB originally chose to perform a stand-up comedy but then later switched to perform the popular classic Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, in a form of choir/vocal group-like performance with their own fun twist. Instead of sending a few representative of their class to perform, XB chose to do the performance with all their class members, “In order to give the impression of class solidarity, the main thing is to do it together with everyone, appearing together through a joint process so that there is a high sense of family”, Qeenar ’26 the class leader, stated. The performance was filled with so much joy from XB, and the audience seemed to have felt it perfectly well as smiles and appreciative laughters were seen among the students and teachers who passed by and watched as said by Qeenar ’26, “We only prepared for about 15 minutes so it was spontaneous, but the important thing is that the display can be enjoyed together and shared happiness with the SMAPJ SDA audience”.

The Arc asked the Department’s leader to describe her impression of this first round of their new program, here’s what she has to say :

Aurel ’25, “Relieved and happy because it was the first time it was held for the XB class, a little nervous, at first I didn’t know whether many people were excited or not so yesterday I tried to promote as much as possible. But the appearance is cool, exciting and solid, the audience is large and everyone is entertained. Looking forward to the next one”

Last but certainly far from least, the Student Council’s President also stated her graditute and hope for this program, Gwen ’25,”I didn’t expect so many people to be excited, even class 12. Thank you all for your enthusiasm, especially for class XB, the talent interest department, the publication department, and the spiritual department who writes about it on The Arc”.
