After the long Eid al-Fitr holiday, a warm atmosphere and a sense of togetherness welcomed the students and teachers of SMA Pembangunan Jaya Sidoarjo on the first day of school, Wednesday (09/04/2025). Shaking hands with all school residents is a form of friendship. Without the need for a stage or official event, students and teachers shook hands one by one on the school field.
The activity began with shaking hands with the principal, followed by the teachers, and then all students shook hands with each other. A warm atmosphere accompanied their every step. This activity is a special moment to forgive each other and strengthen the relationship between people after a full month of Ramadan.
Not only with high school residents, but this handshake activity was also carried out with all Pembangunan Jaya Sidoarjo school residents. After the handshake activity, the students enjoyed snacks that were collected together by all students as a form of sympathy and sharing among one another.
This handshaking activity has become a tradition every year after the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Although simple, it conveys a deep meaning about the importance of respecting each other, forgiving, and maintaining solidarity in the school environment. With the resumption of teaching and learning activities, it is expected that the spirit of students will increase, along with the new spirit after Ramadan and Eid. It is hoped that this positive atmosphere will continue to carry over into daily teaching and learning activities, creating a more harmonious and productive school environment.
With the end of the activity, the students returned to class to start learning. However, the spirit of Eid al-Fitr was still felt on their cheerful faces, as if confirming that after forgiving each other, it is time to step together towards more meaningful days.
