On Friday, June 14, 2025, the 9th graduating class of “Nawa Kanchana” from SMA Pembangunan Jaya 2 Sidoarjo will be held. This year’s graduation theme, ‘Arsa Dana Diyaksa,’ embodies the spirit of preserving happiness and prosperity. ‘Arsa’ signifies joy, while ‘Dana Diyaksa’ means guardian of prosperity.
This year’s graduation ceremony was held in the evening, specifically at 6:00 PM. The event began with the graduates entering the MPH (Multi-Purpose Hall). The ceremony opened with a traditional dance performance by Ida Ayu Carissa Putri Mahendra from the 10th grade, followed by the singing of the national anthem, the school hymn, and greetings from the guests. During the main event, the much-anticipated graduation certificates were read out. Each graduate was then called forward to receive their medal and diploma. The event continued with the announcement of academic and non-academic achievements, messages from parent/guardian representatives, and a speech from a student representative. The formal proceedings concluded with a well-prepared performance by the Class of 2025. Unlike previous years, the Nawa Kanchana graduation ceremony concluded with a DJ performance. This performance was a pleasant surprise that successfully created a joyful atmosphere at the end of the event.
The Arc asked one of the graduates, Amanda ’25, to share her message and impressions of the event:
“At first, I was really happy… I never thought I would make it this far. It feels like just yesterday I was getting close to my friends, getting to know them, complaining about the endless projects, the never-ending assignments, not to mention the research papers and other events. The challenges were numerous, and even though some seemed trivial, they still felt overwhelming. But suddenly, it’s graduation day… It’s a mix of emotions. I’ll miss them all so much after this.”
“After the formal event ended, we were suddenly surprised by a DJ… we had fun together, danced together, and even though we were hungry and exhausted, all those feelings vanished. I saw my friends enjoying themselves, and I recorded everything in my mind because that night will never fade from my memory. The three years I spent with them will also never be forgotten, even though there were arguments or misunderstandings. They’re the friends who were there through thick and thin. The guys are all gentle, though sometimes a bit clumsy too, hahaha… But that night I realized, we’re all starting to move toward a more mature future.”
