Cheers, laughter, and competitive spirit once again echoed through the school. After completing the final exams as a requirement for promotion to the next grade, the students participated in the class meeting, which this year was themed “Riang Rustika.” The class meeting is one of the programs organized by the Student Council’s Interest and Talent Division, designed to foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-expression among students. The event featured various inter-class competitions vying for the championship title. Over three consecutive days, from July 16 to 18, the school was filled with the enthusiastic cheers and excitement of students participating in each activity.
The first day of the Riang Rustika Class Meeting began with a 2.5-kilometer fun run participated in by all high school and junior high school students of Pembangunan Jaya. Participants ran around the residential area surrounding the school, with security provided by checkpoints and water stations along the route. A unique feature of this year’s fun run was the use of traditional accessories such as blangkon or regional fabrics combined with sports uniforms, adding a cultural touch to this group exercise. Not only students but also teachers participated enthusiastically. The event was officially opened by the Principal of SMA Pembangunan Jaya 2, Mrs. Suci Wulandari, and concluded with the announcement of the three fastest runners from each level of senior high schoolers and junior high schoolers .
After that, the activities continued with a culinary competition, where each class competed in cooking regional specialties. The variety of dishes reflected the richness of Indonesian cuisine, from Madura to Papua. The dishes were sold to other students, creating a lively market atmosphere. The excitement continued with a unique and laughter-filled inter-class yoga volleyball match, as well as the Clash of Clash competition, a test of precision and knowledge in a quiz format. On another field, the inter-class rounders competition unfolded with enthusiasm, supported by cheers echoing through the air. The second day of Riang Rustika began with a tote bag coloring competition and poster-making activity, sponsored by SIATAR TOP as the main sponsor. This activity provided students with an opportunity to express their creativity through diverse colors and designs. The vibrant creations produced added to the lively atmosphere at the competition site. At the end of the session, the organizing committee awarded prizes to students with the best works.
Afterwards, the event featured a makeup and fashion show competition themed around traditional attire from various regions in Indonesia. Each participant showcased elegant facial makeup and striking traditional costumes, captivating both the judges and the audience. Simultaneously, a Mobile Legends tournament was held, adding an exciting element of tension among both participants and spectators of the digital competition.
Soon, the last day of the Riang Rustika class meeting arrived. The event began with a traditional estafet competition involving several students from each class. The estafet series consisted of traditional Indonesian games with a few additional challenges. These included playing bekel, moving marbles using chopsticks, and engklek, a game played by two people whose legs are tied together while jumping. The laughter and enthusiasm of the participants made this competition one of the most entertaining.
As a sweet finale, all classes showcased their talents in the Gelora session, a collaborative performance to express unity. Each class presented something unique, whether it was dancing, singing, or putting on a play. The atmosphere felt warm and touching, as the promotion to the next grade meant changes in class formations and possibly temporary separations among classmates.
The Class Meeting concluded with the announcement of the overall champion based on the accumulation of points from various competitions participated in over the three days. The event also ended with the presentation of evaluations and the dissolution of this year’s Artomic committee. The Riang Rustika Class Meeting truly became a series filled with enthusiasm, color, and emotion, serving as a beautiful semester finale before students enter a new chapter.
