Beyond Just a Competition: Tracing the Steps of ‘Magical Realm’ at Pembanguan Jaya 2 Senior High School’s Classmeeting

The long-awaited moment has finally arrived. After the final exams, SMA Pembangunan Jaya 2 Sidoarjo held another class meeting. Class meetings are held every semester by the Student Council (OSIS) and the Class Representative Assembly (MPK), with a different theme each semester. This semester’s theme was “Magical Realm,” featuring numerous exciting, magical-themed competitions. Over four days, from December 14 to 18, 2025, nine games were held, creating a lively atmosphere at the school.

On the first day, the magical realm class meeting kicked off with a mystery chef competition. Each class had three representatives; one would wear earphones, one would wear blindfolds, and one would wear tape over their mouth. They would compete to cook a dish using secret ingredients prepared by the student council. In addition to the mystery chef competition, FIFA and Mobile Legends matches were also played on the first day, which were sure to be equally exciting.

The second day was dedicated to sports, with all activities taking place in SMA Pembangunan Jaya 2 Sidoarjo’s Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH). The competition opened with preliminary rounds leading up to the basketball semifinals and concluded with a soccer match from midday to late afternoon. This day was a thrilling one, with cheers and shouts from supporters cheering for their respective classes.

The third day continued with relay and sports competitions, including the glow stick challenge, rounders, and the futsal & basketball final. During the glow stick competition, all representatives were required to carry a lit candle from the starting point to the finish line, the candle has to remain lit throughout the way, even as the participants were sprayed with water by the student council members.

The class meeting concluded on the fourth day, with Mobile Legends finals, and a fashion show competition. This time, the fashion show had a fantasy theme, featuring cool, eye-catching and fantasy-themed costumes. The class meeting ended with an awards ceremony and group photo. Marking the beginning of a long, happy Christmas and New Year holiday for the students of SMA Pembangunan Jaya 2 Sidoarjo.
