Christmas Candlelight as a Symbol of Joy for the Birth of the Savior amid the Warmth of the Christmas Celebration at Pembangunan Jaya 2 School

On Saturday, 10 January 2026, the Protestant and Catholics came together to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior. Marking the new years as well as celebrating the Christmas spirit that was held at Pembangunan Jaya 2 Junior High school’s auditorium. This heartwarming event was attended by students from all levels of education, from kindergarten to Senior High School. A series of meaningful events were carried out such as Praying & Worshipping, a Sermon Session, candle lighting ceremony, handing over the social service (baksos) donations, and to lighten up the atmosphere, performances filled by students from Kindergarten to Senior High School were delivered with great excitement.

The worship service began with prayer and worship that was led by a selected group of students from junior and senior high school. Then the ceremony continued with a sermon and faith affirmation that was divided into two groups, for kindergarteners and grades 1-4, the session was delivered through a puppet stage performance that was showcased by the GPdl Maranatha team, while the students from grade 5-6, junior and senior high school students were led by Rev. Vera Daniel, S.Th who came from GPdl Elohim Sidoarjo. The puppet show performance was a creative form of faith affirmation, by telling a story using puppets.
