One of the student council work programs, ‘Pacar Asa’ or PJ Acarya Harsa, is back in 2025, warming up the month of Ramadan this time with a strong spirit. As in previous years, this program aims to distribute ‘takjil’ to the community as a form of care and togetherness during Ramadan. However, there was something different this year the first time, the Pacar Asa program was followed by iftar with the student council members, adding to the warmth and cohesiveness between members.
This year is the third time the Pacar Asa program has been implemented because of its positive and great impact on the surrounding community. Pacar Asa activities are carried out by collecting funds in advance from all residents of SMA Pembangunan Jaya 2 Sidoarjo in the form of donations. This fundraising took place up to two weeks before the event was held. The funds that have been collected are then carefully allocated so that the number of takjil purchased is in accordance with the existing budget. After all the takjil needs were met, there were still funds left over, which would later be distributed as donations to orphans in orphanages during the P5 “Religious Fest” celebration.
On March 19, 2025, Pacar Asa was held again. After school, the Pacar Asa committee members worked together to prepare the takjil that would later be distributed to the community. Takjil, or fast-breaking snacks, are distributed before iftar time in the month of Ramadan.
The Arc team had the opportunity to interview the chief executive of this year’s work program, Ridha Hafizah Herbiadi ’27. Here are the results of the interview we obtained:
“The Pacar Asa activity gave a deep impression with the ‘takjil’ distribution activity that was enthusiastically welcomed by the residents, this reflects the spirit of togetherness in the month of Ramadan. Not to forget the initiative and volunteerism of the school community in donating funds should be given positive appreciation. We also gave some of the funds obtained to the children of the orphanage, thus adding to the meaning of social care in this event, and the smooth running of this Pacar Asa activity is of course also supported by the solid cooperation of the committee which is the key to its success. May blessings and glory always be with us, and activities like this can continue to spread goodness not only in Ramadan, but also on every occasion. Aamiin.”
After finishing distributing ‘takjil’ to the community, this year’s Pacar Asa series of activities was closed with a breakfasting event with the student council. All organizers and student council members gathered to enjoy the iftar meal in an atmosphere of togetherness. This event is not only a moment to unwind after sharing but also to strengthen the relationship between members.
In the evaluation session after breaking the fast together, the committee said that the Pacar Asa 2025 activity went smoothly and received a positive response from the community. The collection of sufficient funds allowed the number of ‘takjil’ to be distributed in accordance with the plan, and there were even funds left over that could be donated to orphans. Nevertheless, there are some aspects that can be improved for the following year. With this evaluation, it is hoped that Pacar Asa can continue to grow and provide greater benefits in the future. See you at the next Pacar Asa!.
