Continuing the series of Religion Fest activities last month, on March 20, 2025, the culminating celebration of the Projek penguatan profil pelajar pancasila (P5), Religion Fest, was held. This event is the closing of the entire Religion Fest series, which aims to celebrate religious and cultural diversity in the school environment. Various inspirational activities were presented in this celebration, making it a momentum to display the values of diversity, togetherness, and tolerance.
Before the day of the celebration, Grade 10 students underwent rehearsals according to their respective roles to prepare for the various performances that would enliven this event. Some of them were the memorization of Juz 30 performed by 30 students, traditional dance performances such as traditional dance, qira’ah, banjari performance, vocal group, and patrol. In addition, the day before the peak of the celebration, Khotmil Quran was also held, which is the recitation of Quranic verses in sequence from beginning to end. The activity continued with an interfaith dialog. This activity gives students deep insight into the importance of tolerance and mutual respect in religious life. In this dialog, various problems in everyday life were discussed together and answered based on the views of five different religions. This interactive and meaningful discussion is expected to instill the values of togetherness and strengthen mutual respect in everyday life.
On the day of the celebration, the event began with the memorization of Juz 30 from the Quran. Afterwards, the activity continued with various performances that had been prepared beforehand, which were witnessed by the school committee, all students, and orphans from Kedung Peluk Village, Candi. The program began with traditional dance performances, namely Ratoh jaroe dance and Pendet dance, then continued with qira’ah, banjari, vocal group, and patrol, all of which were greeted enthusiastically by the audience. All the audience enjoyed the performances that had been prepared by the performers.
The Arc team asked one of the leaders of the Ratoh Jaroe traditional dance performance, Aieshah Alayna ’27 about her thoughts on her performance experience from the P5 celebration, and here are the results:
“The difficulty is because the training time is only two days, so it really takes extra effort. Moreover, this saman movement must be fast and compact, so it must be synchronized. But I was really amazed because other friends could quickly memorize the movements. With this limited time, we make the best use of it to practice ratoh jaroe bungong joempa while creating our own movements and choreography. So, when I performed on the day, it was a mixed feeling. I was nervous and scared, but also excited. Alhamdulillah, we were able to perform quite perfectly, even though we were allowed to perform twice. That’s what makes us more proud and happy, especially seeing the audience and inviting very enthusiastic guests! Even though the preparation was tight, the results were satisfying and became an experience that we will never forget”.
As a closing event, a breakfasting activity was held which was attended by all residents of SMA Pembangunan Jaya 2 Sidoarjo, along with the school committee and orphans. An atmosphere of warmth and togetherness was felt in this moment, reflecting the beauty of tolerance and the spirit of sharing in the holy month of Ramadan. With the implementation of the P5 Religion Fest Summit Celebration, it is hoped that all students will increasingly understand the importance of tolerance, togetherness, and the noble values of Pancasila in everyday life.
