On 19th June 2026, Pembangunan Jaya 2 Senior High School once again celebrated the final showcase of the PANDORA (Panggung Dolanan Bahasa dan Sastra) project, an annual project that gives students the opportunity to show their creativity. This year’s theme, “Exploring the Past, Shaping the Future” drew inspiration from traditional wayang stories. However, students were given the freedom to explore different ideas, and developing a storyline based on their own creativity.
Each 10th grade class was split into two production groups, with every group having to create a short film up to 15 minutes. Through the process of brainstorming ideas, scriptwriting, to shooting the scenes and editing, each group successfully produced a film with its own unique theme. The thing that makes these films special is that they were inspired by traditional wayang stories which were creatively reinterpreted, turning them into stories that are relevant to modern life.
The final showcase of this project was highlighted by showing all of the films on the big screen at Cinepolis Lippo Plaza, giving the students, parents, and audiences the opportunity to experience and appreciate their work in a real cinema.
The Arc had an opportunity to interview Mr. Fikri Firmansyah, the head of the PANDORA 2026 Project on the 20th June 2026:
“Alhamdullilah, Pandora 2026 is my very first project at Pembangunan Jaya 2 Senior High School, This is also my first time i’ve became the PIC of this cocurricular program since i joined the school this year. Throughout the process of this project, of course we faced many challenges, from developing concepts and obtaining permits to writing scripts, filming, editing, and submitting the films for censorship before finally bringing Pandora 2026 to the big screen at Cinepolis Lippo Plaza on June 19. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of many different people, including the principal and school staff, the committee, judges, teachers, parents, and, most importantly, all Grade 10 students who played a significant role in this project. I have always believed, that what is delivered wholeheartedly will reach the hearts of others. Therefore, during the entire process, the Pandora 2026 team gave their full dedication and sincere effort. As a result, the final showcase yesterday could be enjoyed in a truly remarkable way. Honestly, I feel very relieved and satisfied with the results of Pandora 2026. I am also very proud of the Grade 10 students who successfully completed the Pandora 2026 cocurricular project with their maximum ability. I would like to express my highest appreciation to every student who took part in any role, big or small, in making Pandora 2026 a success. However, this is not the end. There are still many things that need to be improved and perfected. So, in the future, Pandora 2027 is expected to become even better and more spectacular.” Stated by Mr. Fikri Firmansyah, as the head of the PANDORA 2026 Project. (20 Juni 2026)
After watching every film, this event ended with an awards ceremony to give recognition to the best films and students across different categories, including the Best Film, Best Director, Best Scriptwriting, Best Actor/Actress, Audience favorite awards, and many others. These awards served as a form of appreciation for the creativity, hard work, and team work of each student throughout the project. Through this project, it is hoped that in the future more creative works will be made by the students, and that they will have more opportunities to showcase their creativity to the public.
