Welcoming a New Chapter: The Achievement Trail of Students Who Successfully Passed SNBP 2025

The proud news came from class 12th-grade students who passed the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) in 2025. Some of them managed to penetrate well-known state universities in Indonesia through this achievement pathway to get a golden ticket. This is a great achievement, especially hearing the news of the success of SMA Pembangunan Jaya 2 students. All their efforts have finally paid off with their acceptance at their dream university, without taking another selection test.

To dig deeper into their success stories, The Arc asked some students to share their personal experiences. Here’s what they had to say:

Alya ’25, who successfully entered the Chemical Engineering program at Brawijaya University, said, “Since grade 10, I have kept my grades because I wanted to enter Chemical Engineering. Even though it wasn’t my dream campus, the major suited me. When I saw that I passed the SNBP, I had mixed feelings, but it turned out that all my efforts paid off. I actually can’t study for too long. Studying for just one or two hours is like collapsing; sometimes I almost fainted. My biggest challenge is my health, and it’s really hard to balance academics and maintaining my condition. But I finally realized that I have to prioritize my health first. Even so, I was able to keep my grades up every semester, and was even top 3 eligible. At first I also prepared a Plan B for SNBT, even though school was busy with projects and student council, but thank God I finally passed SNBP.”

Furthermore, Alya ’25 has hopes and short messages for her classmates and juniors:

“I hope I can be an outstanding student in academic and non-academic, join many organizations, be active in committees, get a high GPA even though engineering is difficult, and graduate cum laude. You have to start preparing yourself from grade 10, especially for UTBK. Don’t give up, really fight for what you want. For my friends in arms, don’t be afraid to fall, because I believe you can all succeed. We must help each other, encourage each other.”

Shania ’25 also revealed her experience as a recipient of Universitas Airlangga’s golden ticket for Biomedical Engineering. “I didn’t expect to get in, because Biomedical Engineering at UNAIR is one of the top 7 most difficult majors with an opportunity of only about 5%. When I found out I was accepted into my first choice through SNBP, I was so happy, I still can’t believe it. I’m really grateful to be given this opportunity. My challenge is more about time management, because I have to balance between academics and non-academics. When I was in 11th and 12th grade, I was suspended for a whole month, so I had to take exams as soon as I entered. I had to keep up with my grades while still being active in activities such as Pepelingasih Ambassador and Paskibraka. Alhamdulillah, my academic grades remained stable and always improved from grade 10 to 12.”

As for her expectations, Shania ’25 wants to make the most of this opportunity. She also sent a sweet message to all her friends and juniors:

“Because I got the golden ticket, I want to use this as an opportunity to grow. I want to study seriously, excel in academics and organizations, and be able to make the campus, myself, and society proud. Self-confidence is important. You must know your goals so that your steps are clear, and always involve God in every journey. If the path is not here, God will have prepared a better way.”

Aurelia ’25, a recipient of Universitas Airlangga’s golden ticket for Law, shares her experience. “I was actually surprised and not surprised. Since grade 10, I’ve been targeting SNBP and really focused on pursuing my grades. My report card always went up, even in the final semester, my grades were quite high. I’m confident because I’ve worked hard, and I often manifest, too. So when I got accepted, I felt, ‘I deserve to get this.’ All my hard work and consistency finally paid off. During the journey from 10th to 12th grade, I often thought, I could have just relaxed, I didn’t need to chase grades and achievements this hard. But that was the challenge.”

Aurelia ’25 also conveyed her hopes and messages to her classmates and juniors:

“Hopefully, I can go through college well. I really want to go into law, but honestly, I’m still not sure what the next step is. Hopefully, when I start college, I can be clearer and more confident in my direction. For my classmates and my juniors, don’t be discouraged, don’t push yourself too hard, and trust God’s way, because God must have the best way.”

With unwavering spirit and consistent hard work, these students have proven that gaining admission to top public universities is an achievable dream. May their achievements inspire future generations to keep striving and believing in their abilities.
